FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Will your lights work in my existing track or recessed cans ?

Yes – all of the Minardi Lighting products are manufactured to work in most existing track and recessed cans thereby saving the cost of having to replace track or remove the existing recessed cans.

2. How are your lights different than ones I can buy at a Home Improvement store ?

Most lighting sold at Home Improvement stores are designed for residential use which means about 3 hours use per day. Minardi Lighting is manufactured to withstand the rigors of a salon environment (12 hours per day – 6 days per week). In addition, Minardi Lighting has been designed specifically to work in a salon/spa environment. The color temperature of our lights have been tested to insure that hair color seen indoors under our lighting looks the same as it will when outdoors. Most home improvement brand lights are either too yellow or too white.

3. I’m so confused over what to do with my current lighting and my salon is not near your facility – can you help me without visiting ?

Over 90% of the salons we have produced lighting for are not near our facility so distance is not a problem. Through pictures and videos we can evaluate your current lighting and recommend a solution that will transform your salon into a space that is “color perfect”.

4. I’m thinking of building a new salon or remodeling my existing salon – when should I contact you ?

The best time to contact us is in the beginning stages but no later than the time that the floor plan is completed. Once we have the floor plan we will put together a suggested lighting plan with specification sheets that can be provided to your architect, engineer or contractor for energy analysis or as a basis for a CAD drawing to be completed for permitting. We can do as much or little as you want – we can specify lighting for the entire space from the reception desk to the retail areas and everything in between. We will also be happy to speak with your architect, designer, engineer or contractor to go over our ideas for proper lighting.

5. Is your lighting expensive ?

We have manufactured and produced lighting in close to 1000 salons over the years – everything from a one chair salon in someone’s home to 42 chair mega salons. We’ve produced the lighting for numerous salons that have won SOTY awards from Salon Today. While our lighting definitely costs more than lights you can purchase at a home improvement center or online the savings in the form of reductions in redos’s and unhappy customers more than makes up for the difference in cost. The old saying that you pay for what you get is very true when it comes to quality lighting – cheap lighting is just that – cheap. Paying more to make sure that your clients don’t look like pumpkins or Eskimos while sitting in your chair is priceless.
